The purpose of White Horse Firearms and Outdoor Education Center, a non-profit organization, is to educate our fellow citizens in the shooting sports and to provide a safe location to practice those sports. To this end classes are conducted, formal matches are held, and several ranges are maintained.
A public shooting range is operated as a property lease requirement from the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Section. No state funding exists for the Public Range.
In short, the Center is a place to learn about the shooting sports, practice for competition, compete, obtain training, sight-in, or just plain plink.
Sorry, no shotgun facilities are available; and shotguns are NOT allowed on the ranges. Also, no 50 caliber or incendiary rounds may be fired at any time.
All safety rules for the ranges will be strictly enforced. Persons not obeying safety rules or the directions of appointed officials will be asked to leave the range. Safety Rules, Range Behavior, and other information can be found on the Public Range’s bulletin board and this website. |
